Fertilizer Analysis Center (CAF)

Without analysis, calibration is an estimate. With analysis, it is precision.

Amazone/MP Agro is the only company in the world with its own fertilizer analysis laboratory—ensuring precision in the uniformity of the application band and the application rate for a wide variety of product types and field conditions.

Why test fertilizer?

Each fertilizer has unique physical characteristics; however, transportation, handling, and storage conditions alter these properties, and these changes also directly affect the quality and efficiency of distribution.

The same setting, depending on the physical properties of the fertilizer used, can result in different distribution patterns.

Methodology

The 7 parameters used

Each parameter reveals an aspect of how the fertilizer behaves inside the spreader and directly affects the quality of the application in the field.

01. Particle size distribution

The size of each grain

  • Defines how the fertilizer behaves inside the spreader;
  • Non-standard granules cause segregation in the container, i.e., uneven distribution;
  • Granules that are too fine can clog metering mechanisms; those that are too coarse can cause pulsation;
  • It is the fundamental parameter for any accurate calibration of equipment.
Uniformity of lateral distribution.
02. Density

How much does it weigh? How much does it distribute?

  • Density determines the volume that passes through the metering gate;
  • A fertilizer that is more concentrated than expected can cause an overdose even when properly diluted;
  • The calibration tables are based on a reference density;
  • Ignoring the product's density can lead to dosing errors during distribution.

Application rate per hectare.

03. Photo/EasyMatch

Standardized visual identity

  • EasyMatch identifies the fertilizer by color, shape, particle size, and texture;
  • Allows you to catalog the product and recommend the correct attachment settings;
  • It serves as the bridge between the physical product and the digital calibration data;
  • This makes remote support easier, since the Amazone/MP Agro technician knows exactly which product is being used.

Speed and accuracy in providing adjustment recommendations.

04. Downflow

It flows well, it spreads well

  • Indicates how easily the fertilizer flows through the internal mechanisms;
  • Products with low flow tend to clog, jam, or create blockages at the outlet;
  • The drop flow is one of the most critical factors in the calibration of centrifugal distributors.

Consistency and regularity of distribution.

05. Humidity

The silent enemy

  • Moist fertilizers lose their fluidity, clump together, and become compacted internally;
  • It causes corrosion in the machine's metal components;
  • It is the main cause of clogging in the metering valve;
  • It may affect the readings of electronic flow and dose control sensors.

Machine service life and dose adjustment.

06. Grain hardness

Fragile grain, a problem for farmers

  • Fragile granules break apart during transport, handling, and inside the dispenser;
  • The particles generated alter the distribution profile;
  • Direct impact on the wear and tear of the machines' discs and pads;
  • It affects the speed of the discs and the conveyor belt.

Distribution profile and component wear.

07. Distribution Test

Final validation

  • Ensures uniform distribution of fertilizer across the application strip;
  • Generate the distribution profile to adjust the equipment parameters.

True uniformity in the field.
